View Full Version : BUG REPORT L146: 921 hangs up phone line

Just installed new 921 yesterday and have been on line with tech support ever since. 921 will hang up phone line. Not apparent that is is when there is an incoming call. Have tried dialing in multiple times and this does not seem to kick it off. At tech suggestion, moved the antena away fom unit(about 3 foot) using a coax cable. Line was tied up when I got up this morning. Have not seen this on the forum, although there was some discussion about the 921 answering the phone. It does sound like it is attached to a modem when you pick up the line. Looks like they will ship another unit today but am concerned there is something in the house that will cause the same problem again. Hooked up 501 to line this morning to see if problem occurs there. Nothing so far. :nono:

I would recommend using your 921 without the phone line connected if you are continuing to experience problems. You don't really need to have it hooked up other than to report PPV purchases (or to use Caller ID, if you are already paying the phone company for that particular feature).

Note that 921 software version L146 made a fix to try and fix the Caller ID, since this wasn't working for many folks: "4. Load new modem patch file. (This should fix caller ID issues)". As far as I can tell, this is when individuals started reporting the problem with the 921 wanting to answer the phone or otherwise leaving the phone off the hook.
