What dish do I really need for 921?

A while back I asked if a single Dual LNB dish would be adequate to just receive the HD channels with a 921 (if I ever get mine through the modulator trade in). I was told that that would work fine, just point it at 110 and connect the two LNB's to the two satellite inputs on the 921.

Now I hear that the software upgrades only come from the 119 dish so I aparently need something different. (Or can I just repoint the dish for a little while when a software upgrade is available)?

I currently have one dual LNB dish and one single LNB dish that I can point at will and add whatever switches I need.

So, can I work with the dishes I have now and buy some switch or do I need some new dish configuration.

There's been various debate over the "need" for 110 vs. 119, but the bottom line is that with a 921, you're going to "want" at least 2 satellites - probably 3. Check my signature below for my configuration. eBay has a bunch of Dish 500 rigs in the $50 range - many come with an SW21, and if you're going to buy from an online dealer, you can probably get the 2nd one you'll need for very little more. I don't know the compatibility issues between DishPro (DP logo) and Legacy (no logo), but all my stuff is Legacy, and the 921 installed without issue. I didn't have the 148 dish at the time, but when I hung it on via the SW21's, and hit the 921 install menu, happiness occurred. :)

So, IMHO, if you're got an old Dish 300 LNBF, leave it offline while you hook your 921 to your new Dish 500 LNBFs. Once the 921 is alive, point the Dish 300 at 61.5 or 148, add the SW21's, and tell the 921. You should be good to go! Don't forget your lightning protection!

Of course, I'm assuming that all your TV comes via satellite. If you've got cable (horrors!) or whatever, maybe you don't need all this.
