Went to check on my timers on my 501. All the ones on viacom channels are gone. If/when the channels return you will need to recreate them.

Just for the heck of it, I looked at my 721 and the few WCBS I had are still there...And there was more than one because I had just programmed em to the end of the guide monday eve.

But the way I look at it the WCBS is no biggie anyway. That and VH1 Classic are the only Viacom looked at in this house and then VH1 C is only checked to see if anything worth listening is on, on the way to 931,933, etc.

CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC, WPIX, WWOR, they're all interchangable for content and stories, so n loss there. The one I hate loosing was the British news on PBS that was replaced by BBC World news. (ITN?) But life went on.

In other words I'd be just as happy if they stayed off and I got my $2 a month rate decrease. I only keep the locals so I can PVR WLIW,WNET,and NJN, PBS stations. Ands that cable's picture is so poor. I got tired of them coming out and mouthing platitudes like "Well thats a system picture" meaning thats what you get. At the time I switched I looked at DirecTv and Primestar... Hadn't heard of Dish then.. started with D* and switched when the 2700 came out reasonably priced.

I was thinking in the back of my mind that someone better not try taking any Viacom DVR Events I have off of there knowing that it would probably not happen.

I did see a post on the other board from a 921 user who said their timers went away too.

I recorded a half hour of "off air - please press info" tonight so they work fine.

Funny thing about that. I went in to cancel the viacom timers on my 508 and found the same thing you did. They were already gone.

Today I went in to recreate them and as you probably know by now, they came back on their own. No user intervention necessary.

Best regards,
Charles

Mine never went away, recorded fine, well it recorded the slate anyway. They always showed and kept working.

721 here... Don't have any viacom set at on the Dishplayer.

The similarity of the 721 to the DP is why I'm loving it. :hurah: It works very similar.

Cheers.
