I have a pvr 721. I noticed on Fri. 4/5/04 a seach for nascar turned up speed chan. as a not subscribed chan. and above each listing it showed speed chan. subscribed ok to record. I have the top180 programing whats the deal. Has anyone with a 721 seen this.

Oh yeah. The search feature works, but 20 months later its still not ready for prime time. If your search turns up on a channel that might be listed more than once (some NY or LA stations in the 240's and the 8000's) you will see double listings, which has always been the case. Since the last up rev they broke more than they fixed, as now things like you mention have appeared. I also wish you could turn off unsubbed listings altogether. If I search for "Tommy Lee Jones" (not sure why I might actually do that) I don't want to see 200 listings for "MIB2" from the PPV's.

I search a lot on the 721 using a keyboard, which helps a lot. The feature is clunky, but lightning fast.

Amen! Talk about major frustration.

I wonder if any of the programmers at Dish actually use the product in real life?

It's kind of like the morons that send you a bill in the mail that is larger than the included return envelope. :)
