As old Winston would say "Never in the field of human conflict, has so much, been owed by so many, to so few!"
I have never read an Email this long about nothing!
Hello,
This email is going to everybody on the original 921 list.
This in response to you requesting to be on my 921 list.
Please read this paragraph before you respond.
Some of you may have lost interest or already purchased a DVR-921 and no longer wish to be updated.
Don't worry, there won't be any more emails unless you reply to this one.
I am going to delete the original 921 list.
If you are still interested, please read the bottom of this email
I will be keeping the invoice list. You are only on this list if I mailed you an estimate. It wouldn't to hurt to get an email from you though!
I will keep the install list. You are on this list if you have sent me an email saying "Customer install in ...!"
Naturally, I will keep the paid list. You know who you are.
The release of the DVR-921 has been eventful, to say the least. There have been many emotions felt by customers, employees, subs and myself!
I've received emails, calls and letters thanking me and saying I was the greatest, I don't know what I'm talking about, the 921 has never been released, won't work with the SUPERdish, etc., and drunks on the answering machine saying there wouldn't be a Christmas because they didn't get their 921.
Some have been unhappy with shipping costs. I agree, shipping has been outrageous in some cases.
I've experienced serious problems with the telephone companies, weather, gas prices, traffic jams and not being able to get standard receivers.
All of this, except the gas issue, has been resolved.
I've had some problems with email.
The SUPERdish didn't exist, then was required, was free for a day (HDTV SUPERdish upgrade), was no longer necessary, couldn't be obtained and is now just taking up space in my warehouse.(105 only)
I won't even get into the 811s, but if you want them, I have them!
The first 921s hit the warehouse 12/23/03. (just in time for Christmas)
I picked up a big JVC order on 12/29/03 (New Years)
Things went ok for the 1st couple weeks of January, then, nothing.
DISH Atlanta received a shipment, called me to come get them, then called again and said they were pulled.
JVC was scheduled to receive a major shipment 01/27/04, said they did, then said DISH recalled them.
I didn't receive any 921s in February.
There was no additional official information until this past Monday.
I've had about 10 customers unhappy about one aspect or another with the 921.
Four customers, to my knowledge, have had to have their 921 replaced, two, twice, and one 921 with a nicotine addiction.
Reports have generally been ok and most customers are willing to deal with their issues except one. Oh, then there's the not having one yet, issue!
The Viacom issue has been resolved and some of you will be glad to know DISH has added "Nick 'Toons", a Viacom Channel, to the "Top 180" Package.
The DISHPRO+44 Switch is scheduled for April 1st.
This will allow you to feed a 921 with 1 RG-6 Coax cable and split it right behind the 921. (Should eliminate a few installs!!")
You will also be able to receive 4 separate satellite signals. (MORE POSSIBLE CHANNELS!)
There is a new satellite antenna coming out for the "FSS" Satellites. (121, 105)
This should make these satellites more accessible.
Basically that bring us here:
Monday, I was told the 921s had been held by DISH Quality Control.
It should be official considering it came from somebody way up at DISH.
He believes the QC issues are resolved and we should start seeing 921s, officially, by the end of the month, possibly sooner.
I don't official quantities or dates, yet, but I'm working on it.
I am, for the most part, starting from scratch.
I need to start planning installations and I may not have much time!!!!
I need to know who wants a DVR-921, and who still needs installation.
If you want a 921 and require no installation, please send an email to vssll@bellsouth.net with "STILL INTERESTED" in the subject line.
Please include your contact information.
If you want a 921 and need installation, please email vssll@bellsouth.net with "NEED INSTALL" in the subject line.
Please include your contact information.
New DISH Network Customers can get the 921 for $649.99 under the "Free DISH" Promotion.
If you are no longer interested, please don't reply!
If you have paid a deposit, no action is necessary. I know who you are.
"Shouldn't be long now!"
If you have recently been put on the install list, no action is necessary.
That just about sums it up.
I hope this round goes smoother than the last.
There's a software update scheduled for next week.
The upcoming 921s may have received a slight hardware upgrade.
There are supposed to be some significant announcements from DISH in May!
Keep an eye on the 921 page. ( www.vssll.com/pvr921.html ) It'll tell you when I have them.
I have 207, 921s on backorder and @ 20 prepaid customers.
Hope to see ya soon!
Thank you,
