Please see this thread and let me know what you think. I have a lot invested in my Dish setup now but it seems cheaper to move than to stay. The original reason I choose Dish was I understood they had more bandwidth to offer HD programming, but now I've read that Direct is launching more birds.

I'm not sure what you mean about being cheaper to move then to stay. If you're looking to get into HD then E* is cheaper, they're almost giving 811's away with a commitment. The best I've seen someone say on D* to get a HD STB is $99. I switched because I couldn't figure out what Charlie's plans for the future would really be, they kept changing.

After last weeks fiasco are you still satisfied with DISH? Come this fall DISH will have a new "SUPERDISH" satellite do you want the hassle? Your investment your viewing.

I have to upgrade to a quad head and purchase a 921. I already have a 6000 receiver (I think that's the model) so to upgrade I need to buy a 921 and a quad head, plus install it all myself. If I go with the D* 3 room package I get all I need, plus I don't have to climb on the roof. Then they knock $10 off for the first 3 months so even if the HD/DVR is the same price regardless of vendor, I save almost $200 (plus labor).

As far as last week's fiasco, no I'm not really satisfied.

What is Super Dish? I've not heard of it.
