I have a noticed a new button under the preferences menu appeared with my latest programming upgrade. It is called "Record Plus".
Does anybody know what this does? The description provided is vague at best. It say something to the effect that you can designate which receiver will record in the event that the primary receiver is busy.
Any ideas?

My understanding is this. If it is enabled, when you set up a recording, it will use the tuner that you specified. I.E. when you set up a recording with TV1 or TV2, if you set the Record Plus to TV2, it will record all shows schedule with TV1 and TV2 to be recorded with TV2. Unless TV2 is busy. Then it will try to use TV1.
Clear as mud?

It sounds to me like it is asking whether or not you want to specify a particular tuner to record the programs for you and if you are using that particular tuner when the show starts it can automatically start recording on the other tuner instead. If you did not choose this option it would automatically start recording on the tuner it has been. I assume this is if someone is not using one of the tuners (in PIP mode where one person is using both tuners or one person of the two are not using one of the tuners).
This would allow people to watch their current show without interruption while it would choose to record using the unused tuner. I believe my 721 currently does this already.
When it's disabled and you choose to record something, it prompts you for which TV, TV1 or TV2, to use. When it's enabled, it simply records to the tuner you spec'd.
Know how we figured this out ?? We just tried it. :)
Anyone hear when the PIP feature might become enabled?
