I saw the following text on the "Digital TV" page of the WCBI-TV web site in Columbus, MS:

With that said, WCBI can now be seen on Direct TV Channel 4. We will soon be on Dish Network but a date for broadcast has not been finalized.

Admittedly, this would be good for E*, since a lot of the counties in the market are in Pegasus territory. E* could gain quite a few customers.

A friend of mine in the market has been asking me when Tupelo-Columbus will get their locals on Dish. Does anyone know more about this?

Update on this thread:

I received a reply from the station engineer for ABC, NBC, and FOX in the Tupelo-Columbus DMA.

He states that they are also setting up equipment for retransmission of their signals through Dish Network.

This means that all four major nets (ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX) are preparing for the uplink process. PBS will probably be mapped to the existing Jackson, MS PBS channel. Aside from a digital only UPN, no other high power stations are in the market.

No word yet on the date or whether SuperDish is required(although I bet it is), but it appears that they are coming sometime soon.
