View Full Version : Locals quality
Many have complained about the picture quality of local channels with E* but what about Directv? I noticed a a friend's house that some of the St. Louis channels have a real dark tint to them for some reason. I just wondered how other markets look.
ABC on the West hasn't been the greatest at times.

I would assume that if a local looks bad from Dish it may look bad with DirecTV as well. If the local is supplying a bad signal to one it would be bad to the other.
All of My Local Stations look good Except for my Local ABC Station ABC 24- WPTY Memphis. Also UPN 30 WLMT Memphis can look awefully dark and horrible at times. It's funny that someone mentioned ABC West. ABC L.A. channel 7 used to look better than ABC East WABC New York. Now on Direc Tv ABC East looks better than west does. The Reason I am able to receive these channels is because I live in the Memphis Viewing Market but i live in Extreme Northeast Mississippi in the Last Zip Code east that Memphis covers and I am actually 80 miles from Memphis.
I think my Chicago locals look better on D* then on E*. I don't know if it's because on E* their on CONUS vs. D* where they're on spot's.

Louisville locals to me look much better on D* than E*. Also, Spike TV looks much better. I don't notice the overcompression like we had on E*
