No mention of if AT60+Locals would be $28.99 or if "we" still get to pay $29.99 even without ABC.

I couldn't get in to "My Account" earlier to check ... but now I have. (It's my market.)
Locals now show up under "add programming" ... with the $4.99 price in the header but $5.99 on the right.

My OTA works, so I won't be ordering. But everything seems to be in place.

Well JL, I have OTA and still ordered locals. We just watch them on DISH and use the OTA only when a storm brews and causes rain fade.

Because I have an RV waiter, I currently have two distant packages (Chicago and LA) and Super Stations.

Would I be able to keep the distant packages if I added the South Bend/Elkhart local package?

If so, how would that work when the installer comes out to upgrade my dish?

Thanks.

> Because I have an RV waiter ...

Um, that's supposed to be RV waiver. Sorry.

Yes, if you qualify for locals, your status for distants has no effect, you keep them.

& Music Beans, you will need your OTA for both ABC & WB. DISH has never reached an agreement with Weigel Broadcasting, so I'd bet you'll be paying $4.99/mo for awhile.

If the regular locals price is $4.99 since there is no ABC, when you get the Dish Value Pack Top 60, 120 or 180, do they discount it by $1 for you?

The regular local prices are $5.99 but you save a $1 with the value pack so if this package is $4.99 then you should get it for $4 with your value pack, otherwise the value pack actually costs you a penny more, then your going to have to pay a $1.50 for an ABC station as well as $1.50 for WB and $1.50 for UPN.

Directv has gotten cheap with their locals only charging $3 more for them.

I expect they are going to just charge the full price.

Note from the press release:
DISH Network now offers local channels as part of its new Digital Home Advantage promotion. This promotion allows customers free installation for up to four TVs, with no commitment and no hardware to buy, starting at $29.99 per month.
DHA charges for locals even in areas where they are not sold. Note the price is the usual $29.99 ... no discount shown.

Local channels will be offered at $4.99 per month for customers in the South Bend-Elkhart area until the local ABC affiliate is added to the programming.
"The availability of local channels on DISH Network gives TV viewers in South Bend an even more compelling reason to switch from cable," said Michael Schwimmer, senior vice president of Programming at EchoStar. "Customers who are fed up with the cable companies' outrageous rate increases now have access to local news, weather and sports via all-digital satellite TV - only on DISH Network -- at a competitive price."
Since the ABC is low powered and not subject to must carry rules it wasn't even a consideration. If E* adds WBND57 they should add WMWB and 22.2 UPN as well ... they want to compete with cable? Add the channels cable carries!

They don't have all the locals ... they do much better on non-local channels.
