501 HD Upgrades?

I saw others writing that there will be most prob. no way to up the Harddrive for the 501? I have not checked how the HD is partitioned but as there is a standard 3.5" Seagate in there couldn't you just clone the partition and expand it with Partition Magic or so? Unless the Software only allows the what 35 hours to be recorded. Figuring to put a 100GB drive in there would more than double the time.......

PVR's do not format the hard drive in a way that Partition Magic or any PC operating system can recognize. Also, the 501 and the hard drive that's inside are "married" together so upgrading is not possible. There has been talk that an upgrade can be done with a 501 right out of the box.

The tech that installed my Sat system said the next version of the PVR will have a Notebook style HD which can be removed from the outside. Is that true? If yes which model would it be 721?

Not that I know of, there's not been alot of info released regarding the 721. :confused:
