I meant why they are merging? Did E* bought D*? They signed a contract? Or what? :confused:

E* has agreed to buy D* for 28 billion dollars, but this first must be approved by the FCC and DOJ. The biggest complaint about this merger is it's going to create a monopoly, E* says no it won't because were competing against cable.

What I want to know, is if the merger does go through, will Dish Network customers have DirecTv programming options such as NHL Center Ice, NFL Sunday Ticket, MLB Extra Innings, etc.?...

Yes, according to Charlie Ergen. :)
He claims if the merger is approved, we could have the option for the NFL Sunday ticket.

If the merger occurs within the next 6 months, could we have the option for Sunday Ticket this upcoming season (2002)?

If it goes through I do not expect it would be in time for the opening of the season, but I am sure the you would be able to get part of the season.

I do not know much about the merger, and I just got Dish a few weeks ago...where can I find out more and when is it expected to go through?
