Douglas County-based EchoStar Communications Corp. on Thursday sued two Colorado men who allegedly bought equipment used to steal satellite-TV signals. In separate lawsuits filed in U.S. District Court in Denver, EchoStar accuses Bruce Wasserman of Aurora and Daniel Hammer of Peyton of violating the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and helping to pirate the signal of EchoStar's Dish Network. EchoStar, which serves 9.4 million satellite-TV customers, seeks an injunction barring the men from stealing its signal, confiscation of pirating devices and monetary damages. Wasserman declined to comment on Thursday, and Hammer didn't return a message seeking comment.
