View Full Version : VOD Fees
If you have 2 100 hour DVRs, do you get charged $4.98 per receiver or just $4.98 per account??

Sorry, they will fleece you for $4.98 a receiver unless you have Everything Pack.

Not all 100 hour dvrs have fees. the 721 is "about" 100 hour with no dvr fee

I had read that there was a policy change recently and it is 'per account' now, not 'per receiver' as it used to be. Was this incorrect?
DISH has not made any such announcement to dealers.

If this isn't true it should be. If Dish wants to compete with Directv then they should be per account as well or no fee at all like it was before the "VOD" fee. We all said at the time of this fee this would hurt them in the long run with the competition. If Rupert cuts out all fees on Directv receivers I would look for Dish to follow . Just imagine , from what Rupert was saying: Free dvrs for all customers and if he cuts out the fees as well ........... I can't see Charlie staying competitive if he didn't follow through with the same.

I have a 100 hour 510 I replaced with a 522 and am keeping it for the day there is no DVR VOD fee. Until then I'm using my 508.
