VOOM signal problems

Hi, I just had VOOM istalled yesterday 3/20. I can watch perhaps 4 channels. The signal strength hovers around 11 or 12, the installer had a very good signal the dish and at the end of the cable run but I get almost no channels. A friend of mine had his VOOM installed last Monday and he's having the same kind of problems, we both have unobstructed views of the satallite. Is anyone else experiancing signal problems?

I have have my Voom system for about 2 months and no REAL problems. Of course I did have to go and re-align the dish myself as the installer left me with a strength of about 27. So with about 20 minutes of work myself, everything seems to be working fine except for the sporatic signal glitches. My guess is if your signal strength is hovering around 12 you may want to think about some adjustments to the dish!

I live in Bangor ME. The friend I mentioned is about 2 blocks from me. In fact he just left, we fiddled with the dish a bit and managed to get the signal to 20 but that's it and still getting a lot of pixelization and freezing.

Well just got off the phone with VOOM, they're sending out a different tech on Saturday. After a bit of questioning the VOOM tech said that the signal in this area simply isn't that good :( So the bottom line is if the tech can't improve the signal significantly he'll be taking the equipment home with him :( Hopefully that won't happen.

Voom may not offer it, but a larger dish is what you need

If he's talking about dish and not OTA signals. My VOOM sat signal is fine. The OTA isn't so VOOM is sending out an installer with a better antenna. :-)

I live in Oregon and use a 24" dish and my new SS with the software update is 87. In the past 2 weeks we have not had rain so I have no idea how it will hold up once it starts raining.
