Is there any way to turn off that stupid blinking clock icon that tells me something is going to record? Mine goes for 5 minutes before it triggers.
I don't know about the 510 but on the 721 you can push "cancel" on the remote to make the reminder go away (doesn't cancel the actual recording)

Yes, the 510 works the same way.

Yes, but Far North may be asking if Mr. Blinkey can be permanently put down (like the 721/921). Obviously, this only works if your watching PTV (which I usually am).
No, he can't. People have been complaining about this for a long time. It's even more annoying if you're transferring to tape/DVD at the time.

Well, hitting cancel will help but it would be nice if I could turn the thing off. Most of us here are pretty proactive folks. I know what is recording and when - after all, I'm the one who set the timer!

You can turn if off with the 721. I know I have.

The 522 has a countdown clock that lets you know if your second tuner is going to start recording. I am glad that annoying clock is gone that was on the other receivers.
Mr. Blinkey's appearance is much more critical on a single tuner DVR
like 501.508,510.
If you are watching from the buffer you will appreciate a warning before a timer fires- unless you like suprises !
I'd still like the option to send Mr Binkey to hell with his good buddy Mr Clippy

Absolutely, but we don't need to see him when we're watching (or recording) a PVR event.

That's one feature i'd like to see. If you're watching from the buffer and timer fires, then i'd like it to ask you if you want to save the buffer. If the menu times out, then i'd like it to automaticly save the buffer. It has happened that I've paused it for a min, then i got distracted with something else and when i got back a timer fired and i lost what i was watching. I've learned to hit record instead of pause, but i think this would be a nice feature to have.
