View Full Version : Phase III install help please
I have just installed a triple lnb WNC dish and I get no signal on 119. I have a signal strength of 96 on 101 and 87 on 110. The mast is dead nuts plumb and the skew is set correctly. Should I fool with the skew? I tried changing elevation and azimuth to no avail. Also, on my E86, it says I only have a two sat dish when I go through the autoconfiguration. Could it be a bad switch or does it need some sort of signal strength on each sat to "sense" it is a triple? Thanks.

You need to select Oval dish in the set up menu.

go to page 20, don't use autocongig and select oval dish.
You need to select Oval dish in the set up menu.
I tried that first. I set it to Oval dish type three and there was 0 signal strength on 119.

Hmmmmmm?
Well one thing for sure it needs to be set to Oval dish. You maybe just outside of 119 try rotating the dish a little with your signal meter on 119.
You might be missing 119 because you're not pointing the dish far enough toward the 119 sat. That is you're hitting 101 and 110 but don't have the dish pointed far enough to the right when standing behind the dish. I would try playing with the azimuth and elevation and see what happens. If you can't get anything, it may be a bad LNB or integrated switch.
I'll try that and report back. Thanks.
If you have it set for oval, and you are getting 101+110 OK then it must be a bad switch or a line of sight issue, remember that you dont get all transponders on every satellite! So check all transponders on 119 and see if you get any! If you use oval setting and it gives you all the angles on screen then they will be right! GOOD LUCK!
Well, after 5 days of rain and cold, it was nice enough to try again today. It turns out it was line of sight. I had to move the dish another 10 feet higher to clear the roof of an adjacent house to see 119. Signal strength for all sats is now in the 80's - 90's. The settings calculated by the receiver were perfect for tilt and elevation. Azimuth was off by about 7 - 10 degrees by my compass. It turns out the E86 needs a signal from each sat to correctly detect the dish type. Thanks to all who helped.
