Stand-Up Comedy TV to Launch in January 2005

A new comedy channel that is mostly dedicated to stand-up comedy will launch in 2005. According to the information that I got from a TSI Satellite News newsletter, SCTV will not only have stand-up comedy from other channels, but they will have movies, series, and home-grown stand-up comedy. I, for one, would really like this channel. 99% of the comedy I watch is stand-up.

I just realized something. Wasn't Comedy Central a result of a stand-up comedy channel and another basic entertainment comedy channel merging??? I remember seeing that on here somewhere.

Comedy Channel + HA! = CC = Comedy Central . Part of the folklore of MST3K.

HA was sitcom reruns. The Comedy Channel had "Comedy jocks" that introduced short bideos---somee standup some old movie shorts, some movie clips. They merged and had another name briefly then settled on Comedy Central.
