811 requirements

Has everyone had to sign up for HD pak to get the 811 deal for 149.00? I have been waiting 4 months to get a 811 and I finally got on a install list and at the end of my set up they tell me that I have to sign up for the HD pak but I can cancel at any time and only pay for the time I used, then when they send me to the confirmation person they told me it is a year minimum..None of this was disclosed in December when I started this fiasco...

I had to sign up for 1 year with the HD pack and my 811 cost was $199 back in December....not $149 like it is now. But would I ever cancel the HD pack? No, definitely not....it about 5 out of the 7 HD channels that I can get. Why would I not keep the HD pack?

My understanding is that there has been a $199 and $149 deal going on the 811 all along. The $149 is for "exclusive" customers, those that have a higher level of programming, and have been a customer for awhile.

I really just want HD for my OTA channels. They are showing HD content all the time. I also dont want to pay extra for quality of my picture, imagine if the phone company charged extra to hear clearly..........

I was able to have them remove the 12 month HD commitment, due to all the software defects of the 811 which rendered it less than 100% useful. (Especially not being able to receive the 148 satellite for a month.)
