Is there any schedule out there that shows local channel roll out for Dish? I keep on seeing more and more locals rolled out while my area is always passed by? Any more satellites going up for locals? Thanks for any info!

They will go by a DMA rating number for the most part, so if yours in say number 200 out of 210 then they will not give you locals for a really long time. other factors such as if they have a spot beam sat that can reach your DMA also effect when locals come. And yet another is if they can reach a carrige contact with the all or most of the locals before they put any of them on air. you are in DMA # 101, so they are being delayed for one of the other reasons, because they have past you number already.

Also I forgot to mention that if the provider doesn't have alot of subscribers, most are on cable in your area, then they will not make the money back they invested to put up your locals, so they will hold out to the end to add them. Try e-mailing ceo@echostar.com, they will tell you when your DMA will be added.

The biggest problem with youngstown is that it's surrounded by much larger markets. Toledo is another one. Forget about Lima and Zanesville.

Anyway, Youngstown has not been mentioned since a 2001 press release that was dependant on an Echostar/Hughes merger which failed.

As the news filters down I keep track of it on the EKB at http://ekb.dbstalk.com/15

The list doesn't seem to be up to date. The DISH Network inside and outside reps are stating that DISH has reached an agreement with all four major networks in the Amarillo DMA. They expect Amarillo to be live by this summer on SuperDISH 121.

I had also been told in January while at CES that they planned on having negotiations with Amarillo stations by April. It looks like they were successful.

The list is still showing:
129 Amarillo, TX Not Available

That is because Amarillo is NOT available and it hasn't been listed on ANY official Dish information, pamplet, leaflet, brochoure, nor Dish rep. The list on page 15 is as up to date as it gets for a third-party that is not privvy to internal documents. :)

Not that too many give a hoot about Youngstown but thought I would provide what dish told me. I emaied the ceo@dishnetwork address and they replied and told me that Youngstown, OH is scheduled for locals the end of July '04. I hope this is true. I wonder if a superdish will be needed? If so how much does that cost?

Yes, I was at that meeting.

They said that the channels would be on SuperDISH, but said that they *might* be on 121, but could end up being on 105.

They never mentioned an exact date, though. Unless you went to a meeting other than the one on Apr 15, the exact launch date is not certain. They said possibly mid-summer at the meeting I was in.

Shipping charge? Doesn't the tech just bring it with him on the day of install?
