It's been fine all day. But I just turned on my Dish to find I am missing quite a few stations. MTV and VH1 are not listed at all, though MTV2 and VH1 Classic are. ESPN - gone. Noggin and Nickelodeon WEST (but not standard Nick) - gone. Many others here and there.
Anyone else? Or is the first of many troubles to expect with my 522?

Run some "Check Switches" on both tuners, or try taking the smartcard out / reinsert it.

1st thing I would do is a Front Panel reset. Press and hold the front panel power button until the green light goess off then let go. then do check switches.
by the way how bought making sure you are not in a fav list sounds stupid but i freak out sometimes and realize i hit guide to many times

Yea, it could be a favorite list problem.

:D He's going to have a hard time finding that smart card. ;) :D
On the 522, the best bet is to run the switch tests, and try the front panel power button reset (holding it down for 10 sec).

mine are all still here. Try restarting your unit.

Kwajr,
Is that a new version of the english language? :) Really I would suggest you improve your statement before sending it. Your statement is almost un readable. No captialization, or punctuation, absolutely no sentence structure, not to mention the statement is in iddiom.
I mean not to attack you, sorry if feel that I am. If you really want to be taken seriously or have anybody take anything you post seriously you need to post thought out statements. Statements and posts need to be structured so other people can understand what you are trying to say.

While I agree with such things sometimes, I must admit that, in the case, I knew exactly what kwajr was saying. It was written poorly, but was still a decent suggestion...
- John...
My 522 skipped some channels yesterday afternoon second time it's done it since the latest software was sent out. Just do a front panel reset or two and they will come back into the guide. ISN'T IT WONDERFUL BEING A BETA TESTER!!!!!
Maybe we don"t all need to be english majors to be smart. I would gaurantee you that i could out smart you anytime on anything, well maybe not english but anything else,or you really so ignorant that i need to put a period just so you know to take a breath. I just wright what i think and i am usally right sorry if you forget to take a breath sometimees man.

kwajr - it doesn't matter HOW smart you are if you can't communicate - take a bit of care in your sentence structure and spelling - at least get close... We're not asking for "English teacher perfect" , just something closer to what most of us use.

I dont know if this is an issue with the 522 as from some reports I read it seems to auto update but if you are running older software version for your recievers firmware it will cause channels to dissapper in your guide. Classic problem with older receivers. Old pirate trick not allow the box to update keeps newer firmware off that might contain anti pirate code, charlie makes it so older firmware will not receive some channels pirates are then force to update there boxes and take the risk.

I'd consider that a useful tip.
One thing I've noted is that if I can't understand the question, I'll skip it. Maybe I'll see it again later on or the next day and be able to decifer it better - but answers will come SLOWER if the question is not understood - IF AT ALL.
I'm not going to do spell/grammar hatemail ... but if I don't understand the question I won't be giving the answer. And if it was an answer, if I don't understand the answer I won't be taking the advice.
The problem with writing in tounges is you need an interpreter. :D

i had this problem today on my 510 and check switch didnt work. however doing a soft reset (holding down power button) fixed it.
