Anyone know what the cost would be if one subscribes to NHL Center Ice just for the playoffs?

I know that they reduce the price about mid season, but I don't think that the cut it anymore after that. Try the web page or giving them a call.

Its $109 I believe...

...about the cost of one pair of mediocre seats to a Sharks game.

Check on it, but I think Centre Ice goes only as far as the second round of the playoffs. Starts getting into contractual issues there after, you know... :barf:

Thanks, I'll break down and put a antenna up to bring in signals from the Canadian TV network about 50 miles away.

Yup, the CBC has excellent coverage, plus Don Cherry. Beauty, eh? Finally bit the bullet here and went to lifeline basic for 9.95/month so I could get a decent CBC signal here (west of Detroit). Comcrap lifeline basic is better than Dish locals for me at least. You must be near Buffalo, if so does your local cable company carry the CBC in a lifeline basic package? Just a thought.

Yes, CBC is carried as a basic channel on cable in Western New York. There would be a riot if people could not get hockey via CBC. Unfortunatelly the local cable folks will not run cable to my street, the neighbor on the corner 100 yards away has cable but they will not run a line to my side street.

As the crow flies I am 80 miles from Toronto but mainly a clear line of sight since I am on a hill overlooking Lake Erie. So I can get a fairly decent picture over the air, its just finding a good place to mount an ugly TV antenna.

Welcome to DBSTalk Andy! It's great to see people from this area here. Ferdonia must be served by Adelphia. I live in the Time Warner portion of WNY (very east edge of Erie county) we used to get 5, 9 and 11, but they were removed back in '92 or '93. CBC 5 and CTV 9 were rumored to come back but they never did. When my antenna was pointed correctly I could get about a dozen channels from Canada on clear nights and a most of the Rochesters too.

Actually Steve, I can receive 5 and 9 from Toronto but my best reception of CBC is via their lower powered UHF stations south and west of Toronto. Sorry to hear you lost them from Time Warner but glad you actually have cable in Marilla. When I lived in Alden I waited and waited for cable to come but moved away before it came. I like TV via DBS better, generally.
