Hi All,
How can I connect the Dish 500 output and Output from Cable so that I get channels from both ??

I remember seeing a switch at Radio shack ? Can somebody tell me what is it called and roughly how much does it costs ??

Thanks,

It's called a diplexor. They are sold at Radio Shack and even Walmart.

And you need 2 of them - use in pairs. One goes outside to join the LNB cable and the cable input, and the other goes at your set to split them out again.

When I still had cable or locals I simply connected the cable directly to the ANT in connection on my 501. It worked great I simply pushed the TV/VIDEO button on the remote when I wanted to watch cable and changed ch's on the cable ready tv worked just it with no problems.

If the OP wants to bring in the satellite signal and the cable TV over the same piece of coax from outside in, he'll need a diplexer. If he justs wants to watch two different signal sources (for instance on a cheap TV with only 1 coax input), then plugging it into the antenna in would work.
