Frontier Airlines also offers Directv service on their planes. On a flight I took from Salt Lake to New York, and back, I found the Directv service to be far superior to in-flight movies, or any other type of in-flight entertainment. It made a long flight much more enjoyable.
Karl,
Go into details, please.
Did you pay extra? Was it available to all passengers? And were you able to watch all of DirecTV -- or just a limited channels package?

It is just limited. They buy their stuff from Livetv which is owned by Jetblue. You can however order ppv movies from the card swiper on the seat.
The Frontier system is 24 channels. Only one major broadcast network, WNBC - New York, but it did have CNN, Weather Channel, ESPN etc.
It costs $5.00 per flight, but if your flight is delayed they turn it on for free. I don't remember seeing any PPV available. I have been on three Frontier flights and enjoy the service.

I didn't pay anything extra on JetBlue for Directv service. It also had 24 stations such as MSNBC, CNN, Animal Planet, History Channel, and such. Pretty generic channels, but really takes the edge off a long flight.

And Song Airlines (Delta subsidiary) now offers Dish Network. I don't have any details, I fly them at the end of the month.
