Latest word over on http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=36 is that they caught a problem with the HDMI connector on the unit, it fit the supplied cable but didn't fit correctly with OEM connectors. They're supposed to start shipping this week it they don't run into another problem.

Wow. They caught a problem, and corrected it before shipping. As a Dish customer, this concept is strange and foriegn to me.

And the correction to the problem doesn't entail putting a piece of metal tape over the HDMI connector. :D
