View Full Version : Switch question
I have 2 wires from the dish coming into the house, if I want to have 4 outputs, do I need a DP34 switch or is there another one I can use? I really don't care about hooking to a third location at 61.5, so I thought maybe there was a different switchbox to use.

You're using a DishPro Twin LNB currently, on a Dish 500? Or are you using legacy equipment instead? (Assuming DishPro...)
If you want four receivers / tuners to be able to pick up 110 / 119, then yes, you either need a DP-34, or you need a DishPro Quad LNB. In the former case, you can install the switch indoors if you don't want to run additional lines from the dish into the house. In the latter case, you would have to run a total of 4 lines into the house (i.e. two more than you currently have).

Thanks for the info. Ih ave a DishPro Quad LNB now with 3 wires running to the house. The dish is too far out to run a fourth wire so it'd be easier just to get the switch in the basement to have 4 outputs using 2 incoming wires from the dish.
