View Full Version : SF Bay Area: Help me track a bug?

It would seem that many of my "X screens of Death" happen with the
same channels.

I have tried, for weeks, to record ER on channel on KNTV (Satellite). It
has crashed, it seems, every time. At least this is consistant...

Can others in the Bay Area (with local programming), try to record
Thursday night, KNTV (Satellite, not the OTA) from 10:00 - 11:00PM
with the default -1/+3 settings?

I will report back here if and when it fails. Thanks!

George

If I can remember to set my timer, I will give it a whirl and let you know what happens....

Try recording it without the padding. This is generally much more successful. If you need the padding simply edit the timer to reflect the padding in the actual time to record. When editing the timer be sure to only edit it on Thursday so the day of the week doesn't get changed (a bug causes the day of the week to default to the current day when editing a timer).

For those on the edge of their seats... the timer fired and the 921 recorded. It did not
reboot during the show. But I need to look carefully. It should have recorded 10:00 to
11:00 plus a 4 minute pad. The recording is 68 minutes - not 64 minutes. Curious.

Also - this was not my usual set-up. I'm not usually watching on Thursday, so the 921
is *off* and the recording fires without the machine on. But last night, I (and 50million
others) watched the end of FRIENDS. So the 921 was *on* when the timer fired.
