View Full Version : Main home page broken in Safari
Hi, as many of the admins may not be Mac people; I thought I'd let you guys know that the DBSTalk home page is broken in Safari (the MacOS webbrowser). It renders dramatically incorrectly which is unusual as many websites Mozilla and Opera mess up (such as Verizon Wireless) work great on Safari. This MAY be reproducable on any KHTML (KDE) browser; I don't have one to try it out. Anyways, I just thought that this information would help you guys out in bug-zapping your site. The rest of the site renders great!
Darn! Another site incompatible with the Mac OS, or is it the other way around?
What a pity, or is it a pita.

Thanks Mark. The home page code needs to be updated but I just haven't had a chance yet.
You're welcome Chris
Nick - not really. It renders fine in MSIE on the Mac, but Microsoft's announced they're no longer updating MSIE (this goes for Windows versions too) except in new versions of Windows. And Safari renders most stuff beautifully, it doesn't have nearly as many issues with non-standard sites that say Opera does.
It's rather ironic really, the death of MSIE as a standalone web browser - it dies with the Mac version (5.2) being way better than the Windows (6.0). Microsoft will (reluctantly) admit that in some of their papers - the Mac version uses their experimental next gen rendering engine which will probably be seen in it's final version in Longhorn.
