McCain Asks for Cable Rate Review

Arizona Sen. John McCain, Ranking Republican on the Senate Commerce Committee, asked the General Accounting Office on Tuesday to study the continuing jump in cable TV rates. He also asked the Federal Communications Commission to assist the GAO with the review.

Well of course the cable outfits will reply that they have upgraded facilities and added channels. I don't really see where these sorts of inquiries produce much of value. Maybe if they limit their inquiry to increases in basic, or entry level, cable rates.
