I'm having a DishPro Quad LNB, Single LNB and SW34 sent to me along with a new 721 purchase. I currently have a Dish 500 legacy quad lnb and a dish at 61.5, all going to an SW64 switch running to 4 receivers. I'll replace the legacy lnbs/switch with the DishPro updates, getting rid of one existing receiver and putting in the 721.

Question on the Quad LNB - I thought that I'd be OK with a Twin LNB on the Dish 500 using DishPro? Or do I need the Quad? Would the Quad simply feed potentially two SW34 switches, instead of cascading SW34 switches from a Twin LNB?

I hope I'm making sense here..the DishPro stuff is new to me and I'm trying to figure it out.

Thanks!

Using the DP34 switch, you would be fine with a DP Twin.

Yep, the TWIN -> DP34 = 4 receivers seeing 3 satellite orbital positions.

If you put in the QUAD you will have 2 extra drops for 119/110 only. Split your DP single on the wing dish & cascade with DP21s and your ready for 6 receivers getting everything.

If you put in the QUAD & get another DP34 and a wide band splitter for the DP single you are ready for 8 tuners getting everything.

Thanks, sounds then like having the Quad will let me give more money to Dish in the future with additional receiver fees! Just what I need! Actually this may help me if I wind up with several dual-tuner receivers in the future...at least one 921 I can only wish.

Thanks!

I have a dish 500 & a second dish for 61.5. I will in the near future be hooking up a 721 & 921. What lnbf & or switches should i use? If i move to a dp quad lnbf will the sw2 work with it? In other words, i need to feed 61.5,110,&119 into a dual tuner unit & to an 811 (until my 921 arrives) Your help would be a great help

THANKS...Scott

Again, you need a DP-34 for that type of configuration. If you need to feed three satellites to three or more tuners, using DishPro equipment, you need a DP-34 (or the upcoming DP-44) as your switch. To feed this, you can use a DishPro Twin and a DishPro Single.

HTguy - you are supposed to be able to string up to 3 DP34s together for a total of 12 tuners (doing this twice on a DishPRo QUAD and 6 DP34s would let you support 24 tuners) - no need for the QUAD unless you already have it from an initial install of 4 Dishpro receivers for a Dish500 only installation. But I do agree that you could use the DishPro QUAD like you said - 2 outputs to DP34, 2 to individual tuners.
