Hey all,

I'm still fairly new to Dish Network. I'm interested in the 721 (though I can't really afford it anyway) but I gather from a lot of the posts I've seen here that buying one would require running another cable from my dish to my reciever, is this the case?

Also, I know that if I have a Legacy LNBF than I'll have to replace that, is that hard to do?

Thanks for the answers :)

Yes, the 721 does requires 2 cables to go directly into it, so you are able to record something and watch something else live etc. Swapping LNBF's is easy as hell. Takes all of 5 minutes.

Not necessarily. The 721 works fine with legacy LNB's. If you have a Dish500 with a twin or quad legacy LNB you should be fine. How many receivers are you going to be using (in addition to the 721 if you get it)?

721 works fine with legacy or dp
only requires 2 inputs from your dish(this can be legacy or dp)

the only thing that would be a problem is if you have 3 sat with sw21/twin cascade.
(this config will not work with 721)

Dishpro quad cannot be used for initial software download either. after that it supports the quad fine
