Through whatever mode...I get CBS E/W and Fox distant feed. I also get CBS HD.
Locals are suppose to come online next week. If I subscribe to them will I lose my distant feeds?...includeding my CBS HD?

I guess that depends on the status of waiver. If you are "grandfathered" for distant nets...I dont have a clue how you will be affected.

However, if you qualified with waivers, the receipt of locals should not change your status.

In my case, I have had an RV waiver for a long time and had Chicago/LA nets. When I added Topeka locals last month, no change to my status to receive distants.

I did learn here that I could get the KC nets now, so I switched my Chicago feeds for the KC feed (I am withing the KC spot. I don't know if Wichita is within the KC spot)

Bottom line..... I don't think you will lose your status to receive distant nets with the procurement of the Wichita locals. Unless your waiver is unique.

One way to check (as I did) is log on to your account at dish's web site and then check network availability for your account. Don't use the local access check page without logging in. By logging in to your account, the address check includes the info for your specific account.

Technically your ability to qualify for distants is not connected to local channels being provided in your area. But, it appears that from time to time DBS companies will make a deal with a local to get the local on the satellite to cut off distants.
