:hurah:

Well I'm sure this voids any warranty on the remote, but my roommate somehow managed to run his 510 remote through the washer. (I guess it got mixed in with his sheets)

For a few hours the buttons would "stick". They wouldn't actually stay down but it would behave as if you were just holding the button. The next day the remote appears to be completely dried out and is working like normal.

Don't try it at home, kids. But for anyone who has a doubt of just how tough these remotes are, ours took on a Kenmore.....and won.

You can also wash your keyboard in the washer. Works like a charm

Just don't dry it in the microwave.

MY daughter made a bathtub toy out of my Dish remote once. After pulling it out of the tub, draining it, and opening it to air dry it has worked fine for some time now. Beleive me, she was as hard on it as your washing machine!

(she now knows it is NOT a boat!)

Most keyboards are just a circuit board with electrical contacts on them and a few basic chips. Not a whole lot in there to fry.

Ha! I guess it applies to all keyboards except HP. I accidentally spilled a half glass of water on mine, turned it over and dumped all the water out and dried it off, and only certain letters would actually show on the screen. Keyboards are actually very sensitive to moisture, I've been through several unfortunately

Me too. After a buddy assuered me keyboards were washable I d\sprayed mine with formula 409 and it cleaned up great:) Unfortunately like you some letters never worked after that and it went to the trash bin. Lately I buy BLACK keyboards so you cant notice the dirt:):)

Alcohol wipes work quite well on my keyboards. :)
