Is it possible for me to get Fort Smith Ark and Tulsa market channels? I live in eastern Oklahoma? I am on Dish. I get Tulsa and Fort Smith ark on Antenna. I like Tulsa channels because they break into programing for severe weather, but i can still watch Fort smith channels for normal programing.
Any help would be thankful.

What you probably need to do is enter your address on the DISH local info page and see what you qualify for.
DISH Local Info (http://customersupport.dishnetwork.com/customernetqual/nqCustomerLocalsCheck.jsp)
That will tell you if and what DMA{market area -"CITY" you qualify for local programming} you are in.If its not the one you were looking to get then maybe OTA {antenna} would be the way to go.

Under the current laws you can only get one DMA or the other depending which county you live in. There is talk under the new law that you might be able to get significantly viewed channels from adjacent DMAs.

Hmmm...Significantly Viewed? OK what exactly does that mean?

LOL - it means that the "significantly viewed station" has more political clout than the local one. :D

The quick summary of "significantly viewed" is any station that's already being watched OTA or on cable. Significantly. :)

So it looks like you MAY be able to get BOTH Ft. Smith and Tulsa locals when and if this new SHVEA passes. Don't count on it just yet though.

I see. I would wish for that to happen, I know Cable has both. Soooo maybe i'll get lucky. I just called dish and they said they can only give me Tulsa ones, yet i get both clear with antenna...werid.. I hope they fix this, and let sat people have both to.
Thanks.
If it comes in clear on antenna, why pay for it? Well........... unless you have a DVR I could see why.
