I have an old 2nd gen RCA DirecTV receiver that I would like to trade for a similarly aged/value Dish network receiver. Receiver was active until I switched from DirecTV to dish over a year ago. Works perfectly fine. Unit does have the newer P4 card but my understanding is DirecTV issues new cards when transferring accounts anyway.

Model number is RCA DRD202RA

I purchased this box early in 1998

A receiver that has been used to pirate DTV's signal is pretty worthless.
And at the price DTV gives away new IRDs an old 2nd Gen IRD is pretty worthless anyway.

Oh....and BTW We do NOT condone piracy here. Maybe you should goto a den on piracy

Why are you saying this dude is a pirate? I see nowhere here that he makes any such references. Seems rude to assume such.

Whay would somebody want to trade a 2nd gen RCA receiver for a "similarily aged" Dish receiver?? If someone had both systems, get a newer model. Othweriwse, why would somebody just want to switch to Dish and get an old 3000 for example??

Since the older receivers are easier to "walk the plank", thats why rvd made the assumption

rvd420 you are a jerk.

I figured that since my old dtv receiver is worthless some one might want to trade me a similarly worthless dish network receiver.

I did not specify model or card or anything. I just wanted something for my computer room. A new 301 is still a 100 bucks.

Plus this box works fine, seems like a waste to throw it away.

In some ways this ird is nicer than the 111 because it has s-video and composite outputs. Its too bad you cant take the receivers between providers like you can with some cell phones.
