New York City is now in the top 5 for cities to host the 2012 Olympic Games. The other finalists are London, Madrid, Moscow, and Paris.
Well this is another good step in the right direction. Although they are going up against some competition.
I don't have a link at this time, I will try to get one later. Or somebody can post one.
NY will make an olympic bid with the centerpiece being a stadium on the west side that the jets will call home. Whether this stadium in this location actually ever gets built is gonna be determined by NY City and State authorities, not by the Olympic Committee. The Olympic bid may be contingent on the stadium, but i don't think the stadium is contingent on the Olympics. stadium financing will need to be lined up, the requisite zoning/environmental/legal issues will need to be dealt with and in all likelihood, construction will need to commence before the IOC announces the winner sometime next year.
I read that Paris is the frontrunner

Don't confuse steve with facts. Good conspiracy theories often fall apart that way.

They moved. All anyone said here is that the Jets did so a long time ago.
Like the Chicago Cardinals, St.Louis Cardinals (NFL), Boston Braves, Milwaukee Braves, etc, etc..

While on the subject, anyone want a "professional" well semi pro football team? I'm willing to give the Bills to any city that wants them, LA, Vegas hell Anchorage would be great. The farther away are the better.

I will trade you Peyton Manning for the whole team. Heck,, I cant believe they are paying him close to 54 million including incentives. He has had one good year, he still chokes consistently when it matters but he has charisma. Wanna trade ?

Peyton Manning Stats:
1998: 3739 Yards
1999: 4135 Yards
2000: 4413 Yards
2001: 4131 Yards
2002: 4200 Yards
2003: 4267 Yards
Career QB Rating of 88.1
Peyton has been a consistently outstanding QB his entire career. He hadn't had much success in the playoffs until last year, but neither did many great QB's before they finally broke through and won big.

Where have all 4 of these teams moved to?
The ones I listed were teams who moved and are no longer in the city that I listed.

Well three of them moved FROM somewhere. The Colts and Cardinals had already been listed. Not sure why the Saints are listed.

Chief
He copied what I wrote, which was a list of cities that the team is no longer there

I guess he could not remember where they moved from. Steve is different. But I am upset that you did not mention the Boston Whalers. Or the Hartford Whalers.
If we REALLY want to go into history, we could mention the Providence, Worcester and Troy National League baseball teams :-) As I recall, the current Cincinnati Reds are originally from Worcester MA.

No. The Reds and Pirates are where they originally were. No other NL teams can claim that. The Worcester team became the Phillies.
The Reds actually predate the existence of the National League. They were the first openly professional baseball team and joined the NL at its founding. They actually won 130 games in a row at one point. They were however thrown out of the league at one poiint because they signed a contract to sell beer to fans. Can you imagine such a thing?
