Monk - New season not as good.

What happened to Monk (shows on USA on Friday nights) this season? The writing/directing seems to have taken a turn for the worse. Only two episodes so far, but I am not impressed. The first show in N.Y. with gag the jack hammer was just too damn long! :nono2: And Monk as a street preacher? :confused: The second show, he spends all that time in his kitchen with out reacting to the monkey? :nono:

monk, which in it's first season was truly MUST SEE TV, has really squandered a great concept and character by NOT paying for quality, thought out scripts(the last one i really enjoyed was the confrontation with monk and his brother)....
