What do they get out of the Bingo TV thing? Do they show commercials or sell stuff like a shopping channel? They don't just give away stuff out of the kindness of their hearts, do they?

What do they get out of the Bingo TV thing? Do they show commercials or sell stuff like a shopping channel? They don't just give away stuff out of the kindness of their hearts, do they?1) The easy way to get cards for Bingo TV is to subscribe to one of Dish's overpriced monthly magazines. I figure this is the primary reason for Bingo TV. (And yes, you can get cards if you send a SASE, paying the better part of $1 to be able to play.)
2) The stuff they give away is donated by the manufacturers in exchange for air time. It's an old rule in game show production that the net cost of your prize budget should be zero. I'm guessing that's the case here.
3) Exclusive content reduces churn. Laugh if you want to (I know I do), but I'm sure there now exists at least one household who will not be lured back to cable because they enjoy their "free" weekly bingo games.
Do these benefits exceed Dish's cost? I don't know, but I'm sure Dish expects that they will.

So? Do you subscribe to a Dish mag, or did you spring for the $.74?
Have you won anything yet?
What happens if two people get Bingo at the same time? Is it a first phone call is the winner type of thing? Or, do you both win?

Have you won anything yet?Went for two stamps. Did not get anywhere close to winning anything.
What happens if two people get Bingo at the same time? Is it a first phone call is the winner type of thing? Or, do you both win?On the show, they say that in that event, both callers win the same thing. I never saw it happen, and they take strategic pauses near the end, calling one or two at a time to reduce the odds of that happening.
Examining my memories, I guess I only saw two weeks all the way through, but they were so dull, it felt like more. I found it as enjoyable as sorting socks, but with the added bonus of listening to a few desparate people trying to come up with fun, new ways to introduce the idea of "I-21".
