This is just what I have been looking for. Does anyone know when it will be available and what is the price?

Keep in mind you will also have to use DishPro LNB's and later model receivers (i.e. probably 301 and 501 and any subsequent ones). It's sort of an open question if the 6000 also supports this. Any older receivers will have to get the DishPro adapter - and this may include the 6000.

Uhhh.... what's the difference between the model 1xxx-4xxx receivers and the 301? Wouldn't it be cheaper (and easier) to just swap out the receiver along with the upgrade instead of trying to shoehorn in a adapter?

These DishPro LNB's are "stacking LNB's" - this means they are placing either the odd transponders or the even transponders in a frequency band above the normal DBS downlink over the wire. The 301 and 501 (at least) are supposed to have the gear in them already to unstack them. So, the older receivers will have to have an external de-stacking module to work with the DishPro LNB's.

Costs - depends. There hasn't been any announcement on availability and price yet. For us as the consumer - it might well be cheaper to get new receiver's instead of the de-stacker. For the 6000, (assuming it DOESN'T have the destacking gear builtin), it may be more cost effective to use the external destacker.
