Was just checking Seattle weather on my 721, and it is wrong.

The screen states that it is from accuweather.com, so that is what I compared it with.

721, current temp 80
accuweather.com, current temp 68

721, weekend outlook, sunny with highs in the 80s
accuweather.com, weekend outlook, sun and some rain, highs in the low 70s

Don't understand why the forecasts are so different.

Has anyone else noticed incorrect forecasts?

Were you using the menu version, or the 9500? I have noticed that since the last upgrade, the menu version is not that accurate, and that it doesn't update properly. It's 10:45pm, and it says that it is current as of 12am.

The menu version. I couldn't get the dish home version to work at all

If you click on current, you can see when it was last updated. I've noticed some nights its using pretty old updates.

Bob - You should have become immediately suspicious when the forecast for Seattle said "sunny".

This is the truth. You should see the wacky reports from outside Alaska I see of the weather up here. It's hilarious to compare what people outside of Alaska say what the weather is and looking out my window.

OK then. If you insist. But, I was really getting sick of all the warm weather, sunshine, arts, culture, plus natural and man-made beauty of Northern California. Oh well. I'll have to hunker down and endure.

(BTW, Starbucks coffee tastes like someone put a cigarette out in it.:p )

Glad you are happy where you are. I am sure you would not like it here. Don't move here.

Not sure why you know what coffee with a cigarette in it tastes like.
But, to each his own.

Yeah - I can confirm that - and yes I've had coffee with cigarette. :barf:
Gimme a good ole Maxwell House or even Folger's - regular of course.

I quit using the Dish Weather because it did not seem to be that accurate. I just go online to get my up to date weather information or watch the local weather recorded to my DVR.

When I want accurate weather info, I use Windows. No. Not the OS. The big glass things spread around our home. They're always right!

I use Macintosh. No. Not the OS. The apples on my tree.
If the apple is wet, it is raining. If it is white, it is snowing......

My windows have the ability to actually open. Perhaps you need to upgrade your windows to that version.

Hey Big Bob, what software version do you have? If you still have the 119, then you need and update to the 171 to use the Dish Weather on channel 9500. Mine wouldn't work until it took the update.

And coffee sucks.

Having an up to date radar loop generally works for me on telling what is developing and coming my way.

already on 171.
Are you saying that using 9500 once initializes the menu weather or that only 9500 works now and the menu app doesn't work at all anymore?

Now that the 171 supports dish home, the 9500 weather is the same on my 721 as it is on my 501. The menu weather doesn't seem to work properly anymore tho, which sucks because it was a whole lot fater than 9500. I don't know why this is, since I don't really use it that much. I just know that the menu version just doesn't seem to update more than once a day anymore.

Yeah I've noticed (at least once) the 721 weather being severely wrong - said it was raining when window said "Not". In fact it hadn't rained for a couple of days so I don't know where they got their info. I too check it online or wait for the weather-chic on the local news station. But it is rather irritating. With cable you could always go to the weather channel and see the local conditions and forecast several times an hour. About the only thing I miss from cable.
