Hi, I recently installed Dish satellite and got a basic receiver and a DVR-510.
I wasn't able to test DVR-510 since my 42" Plasma didn't arrive. Now that I got the TV, the screen looks awful with SD receiver (DVR-510). I would like to get a HD receiver like Dish 811. The retailer told said that they have 3-day exchange policy.

DVR-510 is basically new.
Please let me know.
Thanks.

Can you sell the 510?? I was under the impression you are committed to it for 1 year?

Also - going to an 810 won't help most SD programming either. What you SHOULD do is get a calibration DVD (Avia, Video Essentials , Digital Video Essentials) and run your TV through that first, (being sure to run it on the same input your satellite receiver is on). That will probably help alot.

Come to think of it, I think I am committed to 1 year with the particular receiver. I don't like this. Sorry.

Hi. Regular receiver will output 480i, and HD receiver will output 480p. I am not sure how much difference it will make on my Panasonic 42" EDTV. I will definitely get one of those calibration DVD and adjust it.

Thank you.
