Well after waiting for some time for D* to get my locals and being pissed off at Adelphia for poor service, poor signal, and high prices I finally made the jump to Dish Network. I have gone from ~60 channels (NON Digital) and Broadband service for $81.47 per month with Adelphia to 180 Channels (ALL Digital, including locals) + DVR service + HD service for $75.75 including taxes and another $29.99 for DSL service from Verizon or roughly $25 more for 120 more channels (sure some are cr@p) HD, and DVR.

The install went very well after the installer got there (he was quite late so I went golfing and he waited for me  ) and I actually got more than I thought I would. The way he set the 522 DVR up I am able to watch TV on every set in my house on one of 2 channels so you don't have to watch the same channel. I got 2 UHF remotes and the 522 is in the basement and runs through the original house cable run. The PQ for the SD signals KILLs...did I say KILLS I mean KILLS the Adelphia signal, I am astonished how much better the PQ is. The DVR is great...I know others complain about it but having never had Tivo I am not used to all of it's functionality which is no doubt better but still I love the DVR and have used it 7 times already in 10 days of service and we have a weekly show or two scheduled out for the future. HD is just stunning but there is obviously limited content. My wife and I do VERY much enjoy watching Discovery HD though, it alone seems to be worth the price of admission. Oh and the real 5.1 surround pumping through my HT is great to enjoy as well, no more stereo signal mixed into surround.

All in all sign me up as a satisfied customer...oh and that brings me to the bill I just got: So I get my first bill and there was an error, I called up and was not on hold for 20 min and my problem was VERY quickly resolved with no hassle.

Great work E*. :)

:welcome_s to the DBS club!

Now you understand the reason were all here and excited about this technology on a daily basis. You mention your 522 but what are you using to receive HD with? Just curious.
