Is that title confusing enough for everyone? Let me explain.

Setup a timer on Sunday for the Home Run derby on ESPN HD... got time to sit down and started watching it at 8ish last night while it was still recording... breezed throug the first bit (Home Run derby at 4X speed is just the best way to watch it) and realized that it was gonna go well past the 9pm deadline. So, I went to the guide and setup a timer for the 9p-10p program.

Went back and watched a little bit more and ended up catching up to the live broadcast at about 8:40ish... anyway, paused the event to go put my kids to bed, came back after 9p to continue watching it, and decided I wanted to watch a different PVR event instead and finish up the derby at around 10. So, its about 9:10p and I hit stop (at this point, my first timer had finished and my delay counter had stopped counting). I look down, and the red light on my box goes off. Not only did it stop the current PVR event I was watching (which once again had finished recording), but it also stopped my second timer I had set (which I knew was going off of the other tuner because of the crazying padding times caused an overlap between the timers). So, I quickly went back to the guide, selected ESPN HD, hit record, selected to end of the show, and started my 3rd recording.

Long story short:

* Have a timer fire
* Have a second timer fire and recording at the same time
* Start watching the first timer while it is recording
* Press the stop button while watching to go back to the DVR menu.
* This causes the second timer to stop recording too.

On a side note, the stop button does work correctly when doing a previous recorded event. During the same episode above, at about 9:20ish (while my third timer was still recording), I went to watch a trading spaces episode I had recorded on Sunday night. While watching that event, I stopped it to go do something, and the recording timer kept on recoding correctly.

So the problem only seems to be related to when you are watching an event that is currently recording and you have a second event recording as well, you hit stop to go back to the dvr menu, it stops the second recording event as well.

Clear as mud? I did a search and couldn't really find anything similar to this issue... its quite complex and not something I would expect to happen often... but a bug none the less.

I have had timers stopped this way plus I've had timers stopped by pressing erase on something already recorded that I was watching. After erase, both running timers stopped.

I make sure to never erase a recording while the red light is on,

Or even stop a program..... Use pause only and change the channel if you need to go elsewhere.......

Since ESPN blew the time estimate in a major way I missed the last 45 minutes. I recorded the whole show again off the 4am replay and recorded the 60 minute following it as well.............

Also the 921 is not letting me pad my timers for 60 minutes anymore (I haven't done this in a while and don't know if this is a recent development or not)

I have had the same thing happen to my recordings if I hit cancel out on the show, and it will sometimes stop the recording going on on the channel that the dvr goes to after I come out of an dvr event.

An update on this.. I had much better luck this weekend with watching recordings, stopping them, pausing, etc... all while another recording was occurring and I didn't experience any timer issues. Seems that L186 has fixed the problems. Most of the time I was watching one program while it was recording (British Open) while another one was recording as well (Tour de France).
