Very doubtful I don't believe 501/508/510/522 use Linux. 721/921 I believe do use Linux. :)

It sounds like you might be wanting to swap out hard drives. :)

Try http://groups.yahoo.com/dishmodHe has another post where he has a defective HD. He dosen't want to use the DHPP for $5.99 so he either has a hacked system or he has already opened the box and voided his warranty. :nono:
