Since you can't sell a 522. You should probably change that or have this thread closed.

I called dish and they won't activate ANY 522's unless it is through a dealer/installer.
And then they said that a customer can't own a 522.
ALL OF THEM are property of dish. So what's up with trying to sell them?

They have activated them many times in the past, particularly to new customers. Sometimes it takes talking to a higher level rep to get them activated but they will do it. Anyway, I was not trying to cause a stir, just close the thread then, jeez.

What do you expect when the 522 and 322 are only available as a new sub item and are not actually for sale? Yes dish has activated some that have been sold to unsuspecting individuals because theyre only ment as a lease option STB just like cable box's, and the only ones that are selling them generaly have gotten ahold of them through some less than legit ways.
