nfl sunday tix without phone line

i live in the basement of my moms house and i have no phone line down stairs, i ordered nfl st and it say i am authorised for this purchase but when i go up stairs on her reciever it says to order please call customer serv ext 732 now she dosnt have phone line hooked up either , that is the way she had it installed and the i moved in and hooked my dtv up and she ordered me a card for $21.00, why is it not on her tv and will it be on the bill when it comes in? or do i need to call and tell directv, :confused: dont want to get her in no trouble!!

Not necessarily accurate (unless they have changed the ruling this year). While it has always been claimed to require a phone line for NFL, by far you do not have to have one. I have had the Ticket for several years, and until I added TIVO this past Christmas, have never had a phone line attached. Not to mention, I have installed D* for the last seven years and constantly have customers (especially this time of year with the NFL- 4 free months offer) who do not use a phone line. You cannot order through the remote, but you can call and get it. Three options: 1) temp phone line 2) call and fuss (if the 1st operator says no, call again to a different operator), or 3) say you only use cell phone and have no land line phone line.

D* always talks of phone lines (i.e. PPV, NFL, extra IRD, TIVO) but only TIVO is absolute and PPV through remote.

Agreed......have never had a phone line installed, and have had Directv since birth plus the Sunday ticket automatically renewed annually.......

As always, it's your milage may vary (YMMV). Some poeple have no problem with no phone line (such as myself) or you may lose the ticket without it (such as a friend of mine). Rule of thumb, you need one. Try it without and see what you get. You might get lucky. Besides, you can very easily install a wireless modem jack if you don't have a phone line in the room in question should you need it.
