522 UHF/IR remote question

will the 522 UHF/IR remote control older boxes ?

i'd like to get an extra one if i'd be able to control a 3900 in IR mode and a 510 in UHF mode by switching the "key" in the bottom. Plus, the remote would have PIP controls for my TV.

While the IR reomote should control the legacy boxes, and I have seen the UHF remote control an 811 with the blue UHF remote, I would say just get the ones you need. Would probably be as cheap or cheaper, as well as more convient. Also, I do not think that the PIP button will work on a TV. Not all buttons work on all modes. Have you tested it on your TV? And, a 721 remote has the PIP button as well.
