I just connected my 721 receiver s-video to my PC that has an All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500 video card. When I try to view the s-video on the PC I get what looks like a scrambled signal. When I switch to crappy composite I get a picture! Of course it looks nothing like s-video would.... What is going on here? I don't even have the composite cable connected! Did dish network do something to disable s-video output to a PC or do I have a screwed up video card? I was able to capture excellent images when I had the 501 connected via s-video to a computer.

Welcome aboard!

If you're saying you bump the software to composite input and you get a picture even though there's no composite cable connected, I'd say you have a PC problem of some sort - the card, the drivers, the controlling application, but it's NOT the 721 - because you're getting a picture through the only conenction you have - S-Video.

So, I just gotta do it, :D can we have a "duh" here? Sorry guy, I couldn't resist. :D

Ok, I was just wondering if Dish Network wasn't degrading the signal on purpose so I couldn't make a good copy.....

The ATI All-in-wonder Radeon 7500 video card is out of date anyway so this is a good time to upgrade. Plan on getting the ATI All-in-wonder 9600 XT.
