According to the EKB, May 15, 2002 was the date it was shut off. Like Tony said, the channel was struggling financially.

I was kinda surprised because I thought it was a nice alternative to ESPNews and ESPN itself, but I guess ESPN was just too much of a powerhouse in the sports market. ANY new sports network CAN'T try to compete with ESPN; they can only try to compliment it like College Sports TV.

I liked CNN SI too, I didn't get a chance to watch it much, but when ESPNews would go to commercials or had Golf or Tennis highlights, I'd switch over. It was a decent channel.
