Transferring recorded shows to a new DVR

Is there a way to transfer the recorded shows to a new DV. For example: DVR-501 to DVR-721??

But I believe you can deactivate your 501 (stop the monthly charge) and still watch the recorded programs.

Yes. One of my excuses for buying a DVDR was I had to RMA a 721 last year, and it had 70 hours of stuff on it. Turned out to be a great solution.
